Huawei: Few Phone Makers Will Survive

By in

According to the head of Huawei, Richard Yu, small Chinese smartphone manufacturers have to consolidate their efforts in the struggle for the single market, otherwise they will have very little chance to remain competitive.

If a phone manufacturer has less than 10% market share, then its production will ultimately become unprofitable. Moreover, small producers will not have enough funds to invest in new developments and research.

According to Richard Yu, in future no more than four manufacturers of smartphones will remain in the world market.
