Hellenic bank ruffles feathers with employee transferal arrangements

Hellenic Bank workers will hold a 24-hour long strike on Friday the 30th of June after Bank workers union Etyk encouraged a walk out/demonstration. The decision comes after Hellenic Bank voted last week to take action against the lender’s decision to transfer 150 employees to a debt collection company APS Debt Servicing Ltd, where it will outsource the management and repayment of its non-performing loan (NPL) portfolio, which will of course help the company financially in the long-term. The transfer has been criticised by human rights officials who say the move is somewhat unethical for its employees.
