The German tax authorities have demanded Airbnb’s European headquarters in Ireland to start recording and reporting all data on users of the app-based accommodation service in Germany.

The request appears to have been made as an administrative assistance request under tax information exchange agreements that the US-owned group seems to have been caught up in. As this is a new form of accommodation, legislation is trying to play catch up. The request comes after the company have started sharing information with Demark.
