The German government supported the decision of the local automakers to provide significant bonuses to old car owners with diesel engines when they buy new cars through a trade-in system. The main goal of the program is the preservation of ecology.

The government spokesman Steffen Seibert stated that Volkswagen will begin to provide discounts to this category of customers from the 1st of November.

The trend of environmental problems mass promotion and the adoption of specific measures to solve them is quite common among large European companies in various sectors of the economy. Not surprisingly, its major players are pioneers in this direction since it was them who caused significant damage to the environment over the past hundred years.
