EU Council Accept New 5th Anti Money Laundering Regulations

This week the Council of the European Union have announced that they have approved the Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive for adoption which will strengthen EU rules to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.

The new Directive hopes to further facilitate access to information on the beneficial ownership of companies and other entities such as trusts within the EU. Transparency of BOs will allow for fairness, reputation and more funding for governments globally as well as within Europe.
