This year Eltoma Corporate Services attended the Best Legal conference, the Annual Conference of Legal Practitioners. It was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus.
This year Eltoma Corporate Services attended the Best Legal conference, the Annual Conference of Legal Practitioners. It was held from the 28th until the 30th of September at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus. Eltoma Corporate Services delegation included the Business Development Department, represented by Marina Mishenkina, and the Sales and Marketing Department, represented by Chrys Constantinou.

Our delegates visited the Parliament of Cyprus to meet with the President of Parliament Mr. Yiannakis Omirou. As well as the Presidential Palace where a meeting with the President of the Republic H.E. Mr. Nicos Anastasiades was held. Other attendees included Mr. Christodoulos Angastiniotis, the President of Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency.

The program covered topics such as ‘principles of international trust law’ and currents trends in legislation and trust planning; examining the principles of international trust law and the various trust mechanisms which exist around the world today.
Also the participants discussed the various processes of Alternative Dispute Resolution such as arbitration and mediation and their respective advantages; the challenging ideas about how to mainstream ADR legal training and the best way to establish a universal system of training and accreditation by sharing best practices and experience.

Eltoma Corporate Services was part of various panels and round table discussions, talking about the various alternative vehicles to trust types and brainstorming new mechanisms for the protection of privacy, inheritance and estate planning.
Other topics included:

• A comparison of European citizenship regimes: policy-making and challenges.
• This round table will stimulate a discussion on the different European citizenship regimes and make comparisons between them.
• Understanding the citizenship procedure in various EU member states
• The rationale behind attaining European citizenship and the unseen effects: power to vote and become engaged in policy-making
• What’s next for EU-Russian relations following Russian accession to the WTO?

Guest speakers included: Elias Neocleous and Christos Vezouvios, the Vice Chairman of Mr. Andreas Neocleous & Co LLC. And Philippos Raptopoulos, the Senior Partner of EY.
