Dutch Blacklisted Jurisdictions Add a 20.5% Surcharge on Interest & Royalties Tax

The Finance Ministry in the Netherlands have purportedly issued a new blacklist, accusing 17 low-tax jurisdictions (including UK Crown Dependencies Guernsey & Jersey) of being a potential threat to the common reporting cause. Going forward, to remove any competitiveness, from 2012, companies with subsidiaries in any of the listed jurisdictions will have to pay an additional 20.5% tax on interest and royalties received from the Netherlands.
