In a recent US survey, polls showed that over half of voters think that President Donald Trump is ripping the country to shreds. While his job approval rates are staying at a meagre average of 35% since August this year. Only 36% of the public stated they liked his personality or general approach, with only 14% agreeing with his policies and agenda.
Essentially, Trump has a moderately fine line of support; a slim majority of which explicitly approves of what many voters find offensive: his personality and conduct. This is Trump’s base.
