A casino complex expected to be the largest in Europe is set to begin operations by 2021 in Cyprus.
According to officials, this will give a significant boost to the Cypriot economy. Moreover, the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, has stated that the casino complex will have a great impact on the GDP of the country.
Phassouri Ltd and Macau’s Melco International presented their plans for the first ever casino resort in the internationally recognised south of Cyprus. The complex is said to be called the City of Dreams Mediterranean.
The chairman of Melco, Lawrence Ho, has stated that the new casino complex in Cyprus is the company’s priority as it is the first time the brand has operated out with Asia.
The casino complex will be the largest in Europe with 500 hotel rooms with facilities more than 6,000 square metres. The complex is estimated to cost EUR €600 million.
The facilities will include 11 restaurants, 1,200 gaming machines and 136 gaming tables.
