Chief of the Cyprus Police force Mr Zacharias Chrysostomou told an international conference in Nicosia about the existence of corruption in the police force in Cyprus, and that organised crime and corruption go hand in hand. Acknowledging the issue of corruption in the force, he reiterated that where there is corruption in law enforcement authorities they are historically very difficult to identify the perpetrator and actions taken to combat it should take a holistic approach. He reassured Cyprus officials that everything was being done to nip any wrongdoing in the bud.
