The disputes surrounding the new Chinese law regarding Islamism in the country are still continuing.
Recently, China passed a new law that aims to make Islam ‘compatible with socialism.’
Over the next five years, the Chinese authorities intend to ‘synthesise’ Islam. This means that along with Shintoism and other “Asian” religions, the Chinese people will practice Islam.
According to the Chinese media, after meeting with representatives of eight Islamic associations, the PRC’s high officials agreed to support Islam in the country, which should allow various religious groups to feel more comfortable with the proposed changes.
