BVI Registrar Given to Powers to Strike-Off Non-Compliant Companies

From October 1st, the BVI Government will apply various measures to encourage compliance with all reporting requirements. Going forward, BVI companies will not be able obtain a certificate of good standing from the company registrar anymore if they are found to be non-compliant.

The BVI company registrar has been granted new authority to act against companies that have failed to report details of their current Company Directors. Additionally, after January 1st 2019, a non-compliant company can be struck off the register, affecting all the Directors, Shareholders; with the company liquidator forbidden to act on its behalf.
