BVI Allows Disabled Bearer shares to be Paid Out

By in

Overruling the recent case of Wembley Ltd and Sutton Ltd 2018, The BVI court of offer has held that proprietors of bearer shares have an established right not to be denied of their property through disablement without accepting remuneration for their value.

The appellate court ruled that it could appoint beneficiaries to reclaim old shares even where the organisations have yet to appoint functionaries, in doing so this ultimately restores companies to a better liquidity in the long run.
