Last week, draft legislation was released by the UK cabinet regarding the UK’s exit from the European Union next year. Which provides that EU law on cross-border recognition, and the enforcement of court rulings and confiscation orders will continue to apply to any legal matters resolved or issued during the 21-month changeover.
For the interim period, 3 million EU nationals currently living in the UK will have the right to stay permanently and continue their activities and will be able to be joined by family members/ dependents in future. The EC has asked the European Council of Ministers to approve the agreement, which must then be passed through the Houses Parliament.
