Asian Development Bank (ADB) officials and other experts released a statement last week stating the need for Asia to boost investment in renewable energy sources as well as its use of energy efficiency technology. Asia has taken a huge step forward in developing clean energy over the last 10 years however more could be done to keep up with rising demands regarding climate change. Renewable energy sources have become cheaper to implement as technology develops.

Bindu Lohani, ADBs Vice President commented that Asian governments should be grabbing this opportunity presented in the form of low oil prices to eliminate spending money on fuel subsidies and allow for cleaner energy sources to catch up.
