A staggering 200,000 properties in Cyprus remain unregistered

Almost 200,000 properties in Cyprus were not registered with the Department of Lands & Surveys between the 80’s and 2013, when a revaluation of real estate was finally carried out. The figure amounts to one-sixth of the island’s total properties; the issue was discussed at a House Interior Committee who heard that as a result of the 33 year gap between the two revaluations, many land related problems have arisen, including property taxation matters.
